The Physio Fix was established in Phoenix, Arizona in 2017 by Dr. Stacie Barber.
After earning her doctorate degree in 2015, Dr. Stacie took her first job as a physical therapist in a traditional outpatient orthopedic and sports physical therapy clinic. As she was settling into the profession, she became increasingly frustrated with the level of patient care she could provide. Her time with patients was profoundly restricted so the clinic could churn through visits to maximize income. In addition to being rushed through in-person treatment, she had volumes of documentation she had to fit in at the end of the day to keep insurance companies happy. By year two, Dr. Stacie was on the verge of burn-out, tired of feeling like she wasn’t putting her skillset to the best use and like she worked for insurance carriers instead of her patients…so she created her own solution…by taking the leap into solopreneurship!
In 2017, she ventured out on her own and into an office space she rented at a Crossfit gym before transitioning to a private facility in order to be able to see patients in a 1-on-1 hour-long setting. Dr. Stacie was thrilled to be able to ensure that patients received the proper treatment and attention they deserved! Simultaneously, she worked to increase her online presence, adding in telemedicine and began serving the physical therapy community by offering mentorship to students in PT school. While not originally part of her business plan, she eventually ended up turning one of her mentees into the very first addition to her team.
Then when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in early 2020, she (like so many) faced multiple challenges, including facility access restrictions, increasing rents, and other difficulties. Again forced to find a solution, Dr. Stacie took the risk to open her own facility in the fall of 2020 – where The Physio Fix now resides. She made a giant capital investment and built out her facility from a blank slate – handling everything from the reception area wallpaper application to all the equipment assembly!
With her new location feeling like home, she decided to bring in more like-minded and talented doctors and the office staff necessary to support the expanded operations and increased patient flow. Within one year of the grand opening, The Physio Fix hit max capacity! Read on to learn more about The Physio Fix team and what makes them so valuable.
Our Services
Physical Therapy
Whether you have an existing injury or want to prevent injury, we start with a comprehensive assessment to learn your injury history, tolerance level, your goals, and identify any weaknesses in mobility, flexibility, strength, stability, and functional movement patterns. With the data from the assessment, we create an individualized physical therapy program tailored to your specific needs. We accept BCBS insurance and offer the popular self-pay option. Our clinicians work with you 1-on-1 for the entire 60-minute visit to help you recover from injuries and strengthen any deficiencies that prevent you from being the strongest version of you!
Custom PROGRAMMING
We work with clients all over the world to help them achieve their goals whether through our premade programs or our custom programs. A custom program starts with personalized attention through a video appointment to learn all about you and your needs and goals. Then, no matter what you want to work on, we create a training plan that caters to your schedule and the equipment you have access to. We’ll help you get out of pain, improve performance, and maintain resiliency!
Fitness Training
As former or current athletes ourselves, we know how important it is to be in prime shape. Let us help you level up your game with our 1-on-1 or small group training and manual therapy services! Based on popular demand, we have expanded our in-person schedule to include weekend classes focused on injury prevention! These classes are offered on one Saturday each month and target the specific needs of various types of athletes.
Meet The Physio Fix Team

Dr. Stacie Barber
PT, DPT, CSCS, DN cert., USAW-L1SP, FRCms
Dr. Stacie Barber is the founder and owner of The Physio Fix, which was established in 2017. Stacie received her B.S. in Exercise Science from Illinois State University in 2011 where she was also an NCAA student-athlete, earning several honors in the sport of gymnastics. After undergrad, Stacie went on to become a strength and performance coach, furthering her knowledge of exercise prescription and implementation before pursuing her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree which she obtained from Duke University in 2015.
As a former collegiate gymnast and current Olympic Weightlifter, Dr. Stacie has had her fair share of orthopedic injuries and surgeries (11 surgeries to be exact!), so she understands how detrimental an injury can be for an athlete at any level. Therefore, she spends a lot of time with patients analyzing their movement patterns, identifying deficits, and improving body mechanics to not only fix the current problem but to also prevent further compensations and degeneration.
Stacie has worked with the entire spectrum of patients – from professional athletes & olympians to those just learning their sport! She enjoys working with people of all ages who participate in a variety of sports, but she specializes in working with gymnasts and strength athletes. Stacie incorporates strength training, mobility training, and sports performance enhancement into all of her treatment plans to help people unleash their full potential. There is no question you will be stronger and feel better than ever after working with Dr. Stacie!
In her spare time, Dr. Stacie enjoys quality time at home with her husband and their FIVE dogs who regularly provide “patient support” at her facility! She has competed in Gymnastics, Powerlifting, and Bodybuilding, and is currently pursuing her passion for Olympic Weightlifting.

Dr. Hailey Kaus
Doctor of Physical Therapy (PT, DPT) & Licensed Athletic Trainer (ATC/L)
Dr. Hailey is a Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer who specializes in working with gymnasts, dancers, cheerleaders, ice skaters, and pom athletes. Her broad experience – as not only a clinician, but also an athletic trainer, coach, and athlete – allows her to help parents, coaches, and athletes alike as they navigate injuries and seek to prevent them. Dr. Hailey is devoted to teaching athletes how to feel powerful and limitless in their sport. Her passion for helping athletes is contagious and her upbeat attitude brings so much joy to everyone at the clinic.
She grew up in Arizona as a performative athlete, starting at a young age as a competitive gymnast. She switched to competitive dance and cheerleading in her teens before attending Northern Arizona University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Dr. Hailey was awarded a grant from NAU to carry out a two-year research project at various gymnastics clubs in the valley on how to predict injuries in women’s club gymnastics.
After her undergraduate studies, Dr. Hailey put her license to work as the head athletic trainer for Imagine Prep Surprise. This experience further fueled her passion for working with athletes, so she went on to earn her Doctor of Physical Therapy from NAU as well. She coached women’s competitive gymnastics for three years while completing her advanced degree. She is currently an Acro dance teacher at LA Dance in Peoria, the head athletic trainer at Imagine Prep Surprise, and serves as medical staff for a variety of gymnastics meets in the region. She has also been hired as an athletic trainer for the USA Gymnastics team at their international event in Baku, Azerbaijan!!
When she’s not out and about cheerfully caring for the performative athlete community, Dr. Hailey spends time with her husband Dan who is also a physical therapist. Together they have a sweet dog named Mushu. She enjoys running (currently training for a half-marathon), traveling to any beach with her hubby, and having family quality time.

He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Creighton University.
Dr. Nate loves digging into the latest research to select the best exercises and treatments to help people reach their goals. He also likes to apply his background in strength and conditioning to the patients he works with. This focus and combination mean his patients leave feeling educated and empowered to help themselves.

Dr. Meghan Slavin
Doctor of Physical Therapy (PT, DPT)
Dr. Meghan grew up as a competitive gymnast and experienced many injuries throughout her career. Meghan spent a lot of time in physical therapy herself which ignited her passion to become a Physical Therapist. Additionally, while pursuing her degrees, she coached gymnastics for 12 years. In this role, she noticed that many of her gymnasts were not given a clear plan to treat their injuries and return to sport. This confirmed her devotion to becoming a clinician who educates patients and provides comprehensive and patient-centered care.
Having obtained her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Midwestern University in 2013, Dr. Meghan has eight years of experience in outpatient physical therapy. Before joining The Physio Fix, she spent four years as a Clinic Director. She works with a variety of patient populations, specializing in endurance athlete, gymnast, and dancer injuries. She believes that our bodies are capable of great feats!
In recent years, Dr. Meghan transitioned her focus from gymnastics to trail running. Fully embodying the idea of “going the distance,” she enjoys racing in ultramarathons and has completed four 100-mile races!! She loves the outdoors and exploring the world from her own two feet. When not running, you can find her adventuring with her husband Brian and four-legged friend, Stryder.

What our clients say
The Physio Fix is one of a kind! Not only is the clinic super clean, but the entire staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I have taken Stacie’s handstand clinic, in which she gave a ton of mobility exercises, drills, and actually getting up in a handstand. I am currently doing her Strong Like Stacie 16 week workout program. What I love about this program is that she breaks down every exercise programmed on her app. She also gives modifications which can be super helpful. The workouts are challenging, but in the best way ever because it’s smartly programmed so that you can finish it and feel strong. I also am a PT patient of the clinic and see Dr. Hailey Maggio. I have made a lot of progress in just a few short weeks. I have been recommending The Physio Fix to everyone!
I am starting my third month of custom programming with Dr. Stacie, and I couldn’t be happier with my progress. I have an old hamstring injury that I’ve been working on, and the custom programming has really enabled me to get it stronger while hitting my fitness goals. The feedback on my form checks and the positivity has been amazing. The workouts have been so much fun, and I’ve already made great progress. I have even shown my workouts to my orthopedic specialist, and she was really impressed. I can’t recommend the custom program highly enough!
